Changes, changes everywhere

Highlights:

  • Tooooools! Finally, what I have wanted to do for this site for the longest time now. Make some self-hosted tools instead of just talking about tools.

  • Check them out on the new Free Tools page! There's an affiliate earnings estimator, SEO friendly URL tester, case converter, and character (word, sentence, paragraph) counter. Many more to come.

More stuff I did:

  • Optimized page loads by optimizing data queries. Previously, I was grabbing all the data and then doing frontend filtering, which was easy but lazy. Turned out optimizing the queries was even easier, just had to find the right docs.

  • Fix a couple bugged links, images, and tools.

Minor things you wouldn't care much about but I do:

  • Allow passing in different categories to different tool pages. This one is more of a code thing.

  • Centered images on tool and blog cards. This was bothering me for a while.

  • Darkened image borders. You can see 'em better now!
