UpFrame Review

What is UpFrame?
UpFrame is a powerful chart generation tool that utilizes AI to transform pictures, notes, and PowerPoint content into succinct, ready-to-share Miro (online collaborative digital whiteboard platform) boards. Although this is the tool's main function, the developers argue it isn't actually its main purpose.
UpFrame states that its mission is to eliminate tedious, time-consuming replication of written notes and ideas in a concise, palatable manner. Their smart AI focuses on organizing your written thoughts and ideas, freeing you to prioritize further creation and critical thinking.
Once Upframe has collected and organized your information on a Miro board, you can further customize your chart before sharing it with colleagues.
How Does UpFrame Work?
With UpFrame, all users have to do is submit media of their choice (pictures, notes, or PowerPoint presentation information), and the tool's AI does the rest.
After submitting content, the user will be presented with a Miro board that contains all of their submitted information, packaged in an understandable, aesthetically pleasing project format.
Once users have their processed project, they can customize things such as text size, font, chart bubble colors, and illustrations/stickers to make your project as interactive and informative as you'd like it to be. When you finish editing your project, you can instantly share it with members of your team to kickstart collaboration.
Top UpFrame Features
- The tool can convert shapes and diagrams from written notes
- UpFrame's ability to capture and transform data within data (I.e. informative post-it notes within a flowchart)
- UpFrame's safe and secure AI ensures that your Miro board content will be kept confidential
Pros and Cons of UpFrame
Pros of UpFrame
- UpFrame regularly asks for and implements its customer base's input to ensure overall satisfaction and instill a sense of community
- The tool's automation system eliminates the need for superfluous manual reworks of past notes and charts
- UpFrame's integration with applications such as Confluence, Notion, and Figma is currently in Beta, meaning fully fleshed integration is on the horizon
Cons of UpFrame
- The editing palette seems to be standard, but we would love some additional variety in regards to Miro board customization
- No free trial is offered unless you select and purchase a pricing plan, the only "demo" offered is a 14-second YouTube video
What's the Cost?
UpFrame has differently-priced payment plans based on whether users pay annually or monthly.
There are two options for monthly subscribers: the Creator plan (currently $9.00/month) and the Pro plan (currently $22.06/month).
For annual subscribers, the cost of these plans is slightly lower, with the Creator plan currently costing $6.25 a month ($75 annually), and the Pro plan costing $15.44 a month ($185.33 annually).
UpFrame Potential Improvements
We are very interested in the direction developers could take this organizational tool, but we also understand that UpFrame is working on continuously improving their tool based on what their customers want to see.
With this in mind, we have some suggestions that UpFrame could implement to improve their tool even more in the future:
- The ability to generate Miro boards based on videos (i.e. lectures, meetings)
- Classrooms would greatly benefit from an option where the tool could transform teachers' notes into flashcards, or other interactive content
- The ability to embed intricate pictures/drawings would help creatives better visualize their projects
