Kimchi Reader Review

What Is Kimchi Reader?
Kimchi Reader is a tool that helps users improve their Korean language learning skills through translating immersive text and videos. It was created due to lack of satisfaction with the current Korean translation apps on the market. It seeks to improve upon similar apps like LingQ or Migaku which utilize pop-up dictionaries. Kimchi Reader boasts an impressive, diverse archive of Korean lemmas to ensure its users understand the intricate grammatical aspects of learning Korean.
How Does Kimchi Reader Work?
Kimchi Reader allows the user to learn Korean by translating content while they consume media like YouTube, Netflix, and Viki videos, in addition to text from literature. When a word is first encountered, it will be underlined red for "unknown." Once the user has taken note of the word, Kimchi Reader will update the underline color to yellow for "seen." Finally, once the user is comfortable with a word, it will be underlined as green, denoting it is now "known" by the user.
Top Kimchi Reader Features
- Kimchi Reader's highlighting system helps with word memorization and familiarization
- The word breakdown system assists users in better understanding grammar concepts
- Customizable reader, fonts, and dark mode allow for a unique user experience
The Good and the Bad
Kimchi Reader Pros

- Browser extension for Chrome and Firefox as well as iOS support
- Content can be directly imported into the reader
Kimchi Reader Cons
After extensive research, we found no negative reviews for this app. Users raved about Kimchi Reader's ingenuity, exemplary immersion learning, and ease of use. The tool offers a plethora of features that make learning Korean both engaging and fun. The only negative point we found about Kimchi Reader was that the tool is still in development. However, the developer is constantly releasing improved versions and is extremely responsive to customer concerns.
